KPV Research Overview
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Preclinical studies show it retains much of alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity without causing pigmentation. It has been investigated in colitis models, where it can enter intestinal cells via the PepT1 transporter and reduce NF-κB-driven inflammation, and in skin and wound models.
