LL-37 5mg from Peptide Science is the synthetic 37-amino-acid C-terminal fragment of the human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide hCAP-18, supplied as a lyophilised vial for in-vitro innate-immunity and antimicrobial research. LL-37 is cleaved proteolytically from the parent 18-kilodalton hCAP-18 (human Cathelicidin Antimicrobial Protein 18) following secretion from neutrophil granules and other immune cell types. The 37-residue cationic amphipathic alpha-helical peptide has been characterised in preclinical research for direct membrane-disruption antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as additional immunomodulatory effects on cytokine release and dendritic-cell signalling.
